Bathroom :(

So James and Rachel "conversed" and they decided that the rug that i really really want won't be good in the bathroom, which is disappointing. So I guess taht I will have to have a new game-plan for the bathroom. What else would be fun with brown?

The Bathroom

So while West Elm is crap, I do really like their wood block rug. James said that he would buy it for me with his discount as long as I test drive it first. So I need to get myself over to their Chelsea store for that. It would go in the bathroom, I do believe. Just some chocolately brown towels from the elm as well, since they are super-fabulous there.

And possibly a print of a photograph I took. Maybe the one of Scooter the cat, or the vespa. not sure which however. (I can't find a scan of the vespa) I think I will go with a blue accent, because it is a bathroom afterall.

I would love love if I could get a shower curtain from anthropologie. It's absolutely beautiful, but SIXTY-EIGHT DOLLARS!? I don't think so!

So I bought my first tihng for my apartment... a print by Dan-ah Kim. I first found her on etsy, and discovered that she was showing with a bunch of other print artists at the giant robot gallery in the east village. So Nikki and I headed over there last night and I got this print:

I think it has quite nice line work in the trees and I love the super soft color. I'm going to get it framed, but am not sure where to put it. I'm thinking in the dining nook feeling like a picnic, so perhaps a tree print will look swell in there.

All the landlady needs is my check and I'm in the apartment! YAY! So now I'm on a mission to decorate it and make it mine. Eventually, I'll post things I'm thinking. Anyways, in TimeOutNY this week this was a brief about Etsy where you can learn to make crafty things. So naturally, i googled it, and I got this site where people do crafty and artsy things and sell them. usually resonably prices, which rocked, so I'm using the site to find things to put on my wall. I know I could hang prints of stuff I've done myself or tape them to the wall (like I usually do). But I want a more finished look. This site is amazing.

The Apartment

So I found this one on Craigslist and I absolutely adore it. James checked it out for me and said that it was real big. So I'm going to fill out the application for moving in. a year lease... MY FIRST APARTMENT.
